Josh Newcomb

Co-Founder & General Contractor

Josh co-owns Newcomb Design & Build. Originally from Houston, Texas, he discovered his passion for construction early on while helping with neighborhood renovations. He studied civil engineering at UAB and earned a Master’s in Crops & Soil Science from Auburn University before beginning his career as an estimator—an experience that deepened his appreciation for the construction process. Josh went on to manage large-scale healthcare projects at Brasfield & Gorrie, where he honed his attention to detail and commitment to timelines. Josh moved to Raleigh, drawn by its beautiful scenery and vibrant community. There, he broadened his experience, working on hospitality projects and eventually shifting to residential work. It was also in Raleigh where he met his wife, Cristina, who shares his passion for design and construction. Together, they started Newcomb Design & Build, bringing their combined expertise to create beautiful purpose driven spaces that enhance everyday living.

Cristina Newcomb

Co-Founder & Certified Interior Designer

Cristina is the co-founder and co-owner of Newcomb Design & Build, where she combines her lifelong passion for design with her commitment to creating spaces that inspire and enrich everyday life. From a young age, Cristina was drawn to the beauty and potential in spaces—always seeking to design environments where people could truly live, feel satisfied in, and make lasting memories. After earning her degree in Interior Design from Syracuse University, she began her career in New York City, gaining over eight years of experience leading and designing full-scale renovations at a small commercial architectural firm. In 2023, Cristina and her close knit family made the move to Raleigh, seeking a fresh start and a place to put down new roots outside of the city. After meeting her husband that same year, Cristina and her husband Josh decided to take the leap and pursue their lifelong dream of founding their own design and construction firm.
