Our newlywed clients recently settled into their new home in the Kitchin Farms neighborhood of Wake Forest, NC. While they loved the overall layout, they wanted to incorporate upgrades that reflected their personality and brought a soft, transitional style to the space. We began in the kitchen, updating the backsplash and countertops with lighter finishes to create a bright, welcoming atmosphere. The existing two-tier island was redesigned into a single-level surface, perfect for creating an open, social area where guests can gather comfortably. In the living room, we added a custom fireplace with built-in benches to anchor the space. The benches include hidden storage, adding both function and elegance—especially useful when hosting family during the holidays. To complete the transformation, we gave the dining room a moody, intimate feel, perfect for special dinners with friends and loved ones.
